Afie Jurvanen, better known as his stage name, Bahamas, is a Canadian alternative singer/songwriter. Bahamas’ debut album, Pink Strat, was released in 2009 after he recorded it in a rural Ontario cabin in 2008. The following year the album was nominated for Roots & Traditional Album of the Year at the 2010 Juno Awards. In 2012, Bahamas released his second album, Barchords, which at the 2013 Juno Awards was nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the year and Songwriter of the Year for the songs “Be My Witness”, “Caught me thinking”, and “Lost in the Light”. His 2014 album, Bahamas is Afie, topped his recent success with two Juno awards for Adult Alternative Album of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for “All the Time”, “Bitter Memories”, and “Stronger Than That”. “All the Time” was also featured in the new Motorola Drive Turbo commercial with actor James Franco.

Bahamas has worked with the likes of Fiest, Howie Beck, Jason Collett, Jack Johnson, The Weather Station & Zeus. He is represented by Downtown Music Publishing.
