Deadbeats is a party we throw every now and then. We bring out some of Winnipeg’s best punk bands and get them on stage. But, when the show ends the party doesn’t. Drinks, relevant jams and fun in the lobby till the wee hours.
For this show we have: The Ripperz, Triggers, Mobina Galore, and 1971. Again, four super solid bands have signed on. It doesn’t get much better than this.
The Ripperz Quality as a live act and commitment to the stage is unquestionable. Their talent, passion, and laid back style pulls in new fans at each performance. The catchiness of their songs and intimacy of their lyrics lead to full blown crowd sing alongs. The home-style brand of rock and roll varies from folk tinged ballads to upbeat rockers with an occasional hard rock scream thrown in for good measure. THE RIPPERZ new full length album ‘You are the Moon’ was recorded live off the floor at Private Ear Studios to harness their magnetic live energy. Production and Engineering was done by John Paul Peters (The Waking Eyes, Comeback Kid, Matt Epp, Royal Canoe) and mastering by Troy Glessner (Death Cab for Cutie, Devin Townsend, The Ventures). ‘You are the Moon’ was released in November 2011 by The Newform Label. ‘You are the Moon’ has so far spawned 2 singles/videos ‘Moon and Stars’ and ‘Tonight Pt.2’

Mobina Galore formed in 2010 by Jenna Priestner (guitar/vocals) and Marcia Hanson (drums/vocals) and are based out of Winnipeg MB. They embarked on their first Canadian tour soon after their inception with only a dozen alternative-punk tunes in hand.?The successes of the tour lead them to Vancouver to record a self-produced 5-song EP, Skeletons in 2012 which showcased a bit of a heavier and raw edge to their sound. The album charted numerous times across Canada on College Radio Stations, reaching #1 in Kingston ON as well as Kamloops BC. During that year Mobina Galore showcased at NXNE, reached the Top 25 in CBC Radio 3’s Tracks on Tracks contest and headed on their first headlining tour of Western Canada to promote Skeletons.
2013 was a success for MG as well. They were finalist in Manitoba Songfest with their track “Hear Me Out” off Skeletons and again showcased at NXNE 2013 coinciding with another Canadian Tour. Along the way MG have played shows with Bleached, Shred Kelly, Willhorse and many other Canadian acts.??
Mobina Galore just finished recording a new studio album with local producer/engineer John Paul Peters (Propagandhi, Royal Canoe, Mahogany Frog).
